SPARCS N4 NAVIS SYSTEM – NEXT PHASE OF IMPLEMENTATION

IMPORT RELEASE AND ASSIGNMENT OF TRUCKING COMPANIES

MSC has been given notice that with effect, Saturday, the 01st August 2009, TPT will implement additional business processes.  This will directly affect all Import Merchant Haulage movements.

In future, Shipping Line Releases will be processed directly into the TPT Navis System.  This release will, in effect, replace the Line Stamp on the CTO.

Every Import container needs to be assigned to a Specific Trucking Company for collection from the Terminal.  Only the Nominated Transporter (who has complied with the TPT Registration process) will be permitted to remove the container from the Terminal.
No sub-contractors or alternative Transport Company will be permitted to remove a container previously assigned to another Trucking Company by the Shipping Line.
This information can be amended by the Shipping Line at any time prior to the Transporter’s arrival at the terminal.

Having met the aforementioned criteria, containers will, by default, only be permitted to be removed from the Terminal within the free period.

Should the collection date be after the free period has expired, a “Paid Through Date” will need to be updated (in the Navis System) by TPT / the Shipping Line by means of “Exception Management”.  It is therefore imperative, at the time of applying to our office for release, that the date the container/s is planned for removal from the Terminal is stipulated.  Should no date be provided, it will be assumed that collection will be during the course of the free period or the same business day as the release is presented to our office.  Failure to advise an extended period could result in futile trips as well as delayed delivery of containers to our mutual Clients.

Whilst our office will assist wherever we are able to, the aforementioned processes are Mandatory procedural requirements
Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

With Kind Regards

SANDRA ALMANZA
MEDITERRANEAN SHIPPING COMPANY (PTY) LTD.
